The Messiah will be Heir to the Throne of David

Of the increase of his government and of peace
there will be no end,
on the throne of David and over his kingdom,
to establish it and to uphold it
with justice and with righteousness
from this time forth and forevermore.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this. (Isaiah 9:7)

Peace. Throne.  Kingdom.  Judgement. Justice.  FOREVER!

How can this “child” that is foretold in verse 6 live up to the promises in verse 7? What expectation.  What a promise.  How?  This was the plan from the foundation of the world.  Where the first Adam failed in his mandate to have dominion, the new Adam will exercise pure and holy Dominion.  He will “order it.”  This baby King will “establish it.”  He will make things right.  He will sit on the throne of David forever and ever.

All of this promise is first wrapped in a baby laid in a manger.

Worship Him!
