As I see Pastors condemning other Pastors who will address events of this week and the Ideologies at play from the pulpit tomorrow and saying that to do so is a compromise of the Gospel…
To that I say, You Have Too Small a View of the Gospel!
The Gospel of Jesus Christ speaks to the ills of society, to the things on people’s minds, to the questions people have, to the wickedness we have witnessed, the ideas at play in them, and how to process them, to how they point to the hope of Christ, why He came, that He’s coming again, to the Judgment that awaits, the need for Repentance, Faith, Hope, Love, to how we should respond, to the need for clarity, to love of neighbor in the confronting of these things, to all of it.
Stop preaching a Neutered Impotent Gnostic Bifurcated Gospel! Jesus Did too much and Offers too much. I will be addressing these things tomorrow from the Pulpit, not in place of the Gospel but because Jesus is Lord and the people I’m called to feed are questioning and hurting because of it, and the Gospel has something to say.
Tomorrow, “I will preach the Word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.” – 2 Timothy 4:2.
