Remembering People are Image Bearers When Talking About Politics & Policies

Short post alert.
While I agree with strong borders, the need to know who is in our country, that people being let in should love our country, and the need to straighten our immigration system out, its also important to remember, that good people get caught up in policies in horrific ways.
This is not a post in favor nor is it a post condemning the policies currently in effect to deal with illegal immigration. I am not smart enough for that. I only know something has to be done.
This is simply a call to remember that these are people, image bearers, with families, and lives, and friends.  While some of them may be here illegally, others of them are here legally and are caught up in policies that might not have considered them.  And I’ve come to learn that while some people (legal or illegal) might not have citizenship status, they often are responsible for citizen dependents who have gotten caught up in the system and policy in unintended ways.
A cousin of mine made me aware of this heartbreaking case.
